Welcome back EATclubbers! We are exited to start off our Fall meal series with a tribute to all things Mexican. Crack open that Rick Bayless cookbook and try something beyond the standard Mexican fare. However, I have to be honest, tacos are my absolute favorite food of all time so I won't discriminate!
This month's meal will be held on Sunday, September 13th at the Hess residence in the Graduate Hospital neighborhood. Please leave us a post as to what you'll be making so we all can plan our dishes accordingly.
Is this how I do this? I will be making "Carne Asada Tampiquena." Basically, Mexican beef accompanied by "Rajas" or roasted poblano peppers and guacamole. Unless, Nachos BellGrande is taken?
ReplyDeleteI am very excited for the return of EATclub! Especially when it is located so conveniently near my house. I will be making a tres leches cake topped with whipped cream, mango and pineapple! Can't wait :)
ReplyDeleteI will be making chicken tortilla soup with all the fixin's! And yes, Mark - This Is how you do it!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see all you foo's!
I am going to bring Mexican Pineapple salad. So far, this is an incredibly well rounded meal. We've got a soup, a salad, an entree and a desert.
ReplyDeleteI'll also try to pick up some Mexi brews.
Horale, carnal.
Fintan is bringing gorditas.
ReplyDeleteJust kidding... Maybe... He and Sayeh and E Diablo Grande are supposedly combining efforts on a dish, but to this point, said dish remains a mystery:

The answer is yes... I am gay.
The "house specials" (I know this usually implies the use of ingredients that are on the verge of spoilage. However, this is not the case here) will be:
ReplyDeleteEl Grande pulled beef Tamaleee Casseroleee made by guest chef Nils from Costa Rico. This exquisite entree will be followed by Flan.

ReplyDeleteIts friday night, and I feel all right
ReplyDeleteThe party is here on the west side
So I reach for my 40 and I turn it up
Designated driver take the keys to my truck
Hit the shore cause Im faded
Honeys in the street say, monty, yo we made it!
I am gonna help Mark with his dish and try my hand at Margaritas.
This is how we do it!
We will bring a starchy side (of the rice or potato variety).
ReplyDeleteSam, Sayeh and I are acting as a triple threat, coming with a mean queso dip and ceviche, which allegedely is fish and lime. You'll eat it and you'll like it.
ReplyDeleteAnd since I'm that guy, it's "hit the shaw cause I'm faded" as in crenshaw boulevard.
I know, no one likes the lyric nerd.
Update: To complement the Montell Jordan soufflé, I will be making black bean and tomato quinoa (pronounced keen-wa for those of you unfamilir with the Incan mother grain). Yummo!
ReplyDeleteWish we had been there. Miss all of you!
ReplyDeleteMewchas gracias por toda la comida muy buena.
